Interclass were appointed by Invictus Education Trust to provide the College with five refurbished science classrooms and one specialist laboratory.
A new, fit-for-purpose layout was designed, setting out the classrooms to suit the school’s needs
using specialist science learning furniture together with suitable seating. The design also included for new specialist science specific laboratory fittings including new sinks, gas taps, basins and storage, together with new suspended ceilings, floor finishes and decorations.
The works were carried out within an occupied school environment for six weeks prior to the summer holiday period, during which Interclass accommodated other science classrooms which were still in use during the construction work. We also maintained pedestrian access to the school buildings throughout the duration of the works and deliveries were scheduled to avoid peak times. Given the tight programme to align with the start of the new term, Interclass worked collaboratively with the school to negotiate partial handover of four classrooms whilst the last two were being completed.
