Procured under the Constructing West Midlands framework, Interclass delivered new temporary teaching classrooms at Uffculme School, in Moseley, Birmingham. The school required additional provisions to rapidly expand its teaching facilities.  As an SEN school, pupil safety and continuity of learning were paramount.

The new purpose-built 292m2 modular solution was provided by Premier Modular and comprises three new classrooms as well as two breakout rooms, storage areas, and toilet facilities. The new buildings provide welcome additional space for students and have been developed to reflect the school’s ethos of emotional well-being and independence.

To ensure staff and pupils could move easily and quickly between lessons, the temporary classrooms needed to be located in close proximity to the existing school buildings, as such most of the work took place during the summer holidays to avoid disruption. Speed of delivery was critical to the end user to minimise disruption and ensure the building was completed in time for the Autumn term to allow continuity of pupil education.

The overall programme was delivered in just 5 weeks and staff and pupils were able to use the new facilities immediately.

Delivered on time and on budget, our solution provided the essential additional teaching space that the school required. Collaborating closely with the school, Acivico and our supply chain, the project was delivered safely, efficiently and within a short timeframe so that students could continue learning in a high-quality environment.

Project highlights:

  • Delivered in a short timeframe
  • High quality learning space provided
  • Project met the requirements of the client and the end user
