Appointed at the end of 2023, Interclass is proud to be delivering the largest redevelopment in Thwaites’ 87-year history at its headquarters in Cubbington, Leamington Spa. Since 1937, Thwaites has consistently invested in its manufacturing base – and this latest transformation represents a major milestone in supporting the company’s growth and operational efficiency for decades to come.

The £12 million redevelopment is being delivered in five carefully phased stages to ensure Thwaites’ live manufacturing operations continue without disruption. Upon completion in Summer 2025, the upgraded facility is expected to increase manufacturing capacity by 15%, supporting Thwaites’ long-term growth and market competitiveness.

The redevelopment comprises a comprehensive transformation of both the internal and external elements of the Thwaites facility. Key elements include:

  • Construction of a new 4,300m² factory unit to expand manufacturing capabilities.
  • New test track facility to support equipment testing.
  • Extension to existing factory buildings to support growing production and storage needs.
  • A new two-way perimeter road and delivery access route to streamline logistics.
  • Construction of 248 new car parking spaces, including 60 secure motorcycle/cycle bays and 34 electric vehicle (EV) charging points.
  • Over-roofing of an existing building with insulated panels to enhance thermal performance and minimise disruption.
  • Installation of 1,483 photovoltaic solar panels, which are projected to meet 33% of the site’s annual electricity demand.

The project has already achieved a perfect 45/45 Considerate Constructors Scheme score, reflecting our commitment to safety, community, and best practice on site.
