Interclass apprentices deliver webinar during National Apprenticeship Week

Think Sandwell, the employment and skills team at Sandwell Council, hosted a series of webinars for those looking for more information of apprenticeship schemes as part of National Apprenticeship Week 2021.

Representing the construction industry, Interclass teamed up with Think Sandwell to co-host a webinar aimed at those interested in joining the construction industry.

The webinar, titled ‘Insights into the Construction Industry- what do employers want?’ gave us the opportunity to talk about why we support apprentices, what we look for in our apprentices and the pivotal role they play in the future of our organisation.

The event also saw our apprentices Laura Smith and Tristan Farquharson to talk about their experiences as apprentices and share some advice for those listening.  Both Laura and Tristan are completing a Higher Degree Quantity Surveyor Apprenticeship at the University of Wolverhampton which means they will get a degree and full RICS chartership at the end of their course.

During the webinar, Tristain said: “Joining the team has enabled me to acquire a wide range of new skill sets within my first 2 years and I have no doubt that the company will continue to provide me with help and support necessary for me to develop into the best Quantity Surveyor I strive to be”.

After the event, Nicola Farrow from Think Sandwell said: “Laura and Tristan did a great job- the apprentices in particular were great; very articulate and clearly very passionate about their chosen careers.”
