Welcome
Neurodiversity Training Programme
Discover our fully funded neurodiversity training programme designed for the construction industry. Together, let’s make a lasting impact by supporting and celebrating all ways of thinking, working, and learning.
What is Neurodiversity?
Neurodiversity is the term used to describe the different ways in which people’s brains function, learn and process information, not better, not worse, simply different. This diversity means that individuals may face unique challenges, but they also bring valuable strengths to the industry.
Building Inclusive Teams for a Better Industry
Did you know?
1 in 4 people working in construction considers themselves to have a neurodiverse condition, with 17% having a formal diagnosis. Yet, 75% of construction workers say they were not asked about neurodiversity at hiring on onboarding, indicating a possible lost opportunity to offer support.
These were the findings from a survey commissioned by the National Federation of Builders in June 2023 involving over 1000 construction workers.
The report also highlighted challenges faced by neurodivergent workers, with 38% believing there is no or not much empathy for neurodiverse workers in the industry. These statistics emphasise the need for increased awareness and support.

Why it matters
This initiative represents a significant step towards a more inclusive and supportive construction industry and presents a substantial opportunity for the sector to lead the way in championing neurodiversity awareness and support.
The primary objective is to create an understanding and appreciation for the unique strengths and perspectives that neurodivergent individuals bring to the workplace. Imagine an industry that fully supports and celebrates neurodiversity- a place where everyone can thrive. With this training, that is possible!
Furthermore, by addressing the skills shortage and actively working to attract new talent into the industry, this initiative not only enhances diversity but also ensures a sustainable future workforce.
