Following the appointment to the University of Wolverhampton Building Works framework in 2020, Interclass was contracted to deliver a new extension to the British Judo Centre of Excellence.
Based at the University of Wolverhampton’s Walsall Campus, the British Judo Centre of Excellence is the national training centre for the British Judo Association and home of the World-Class Performance programme.
The new single-story extension has been constructed to the rear of the existing facility and provides physiotherapy and medical consultation areas as well as additional changing and shower facilities.
The increased space is expected to make a significant difference to the facility, which first opened in 2013, especially in the lead up to the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham and the Paris 2024 Olympics.
