Newport Girls High School appointed Interclass to construct a new build extension within an existing courtyard space to the rear of the school.

The extension will cater for 30 additional pupils per year over the next five years and includes a new dining room and kitchen facility, a suite of mathematics classrooms, a state-of-the-art IT suite, and a new university-style science laboratory on the second floor.

The existing dining room will then be converted to a performing arts studio to enhance the arts scene and performance opportunities at the school.

The project was funded by the government’s Selective Schools Expansion Fund.

Testimonial

We have delivered an impressive portfolio of schools over the last few years, and Newport Girls High School is no exception. This project has seen many challenges including the courtyard location of the site with school buildings either side, and all against the backdrop of a global pandemic. Through fantastic collaboration with all the stakeholders involved, we are proud to have played our part in delivering these new facilities"
