Theatre Refurbishment, Cannock Chase Hospital
Interclass was contracted by our long-standing repeat client The Royal Wolverhampton Hospital NHS Trust to deliver this project as part of a wider reconfiguration and refurbishment programme of works at the Hospital.
The project, which required precise planning and execution, comprised extensive alterations, refurbishment and reconfiguration works to form the new theatres, alongside the construction of a new link bridge and foyer area.
Adjacent theatres, wards and catering facilities remained live throughout and existing services required temporary alteration/extension to keep these operational. Access was also limited to a shared corridor, necessitating out of hours working for deliveries and waste removal.
Careful coordination also extended to the construction of a new link-bridge which required a road closure to facilitate the crane lift. As such, this work was undertaken on a Sunday to ensure no major disruption.
