New Build Primary School, Solihull

Interclass was appointed by Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council to build a new single storey primary school in Kingshurst, Solihull.

The new build project, which marked the completion of Solihull Council’s North Solihull Primary Programme, saw the existing outdated buildings replaced with a modern design and new facilities fit for 21st century learning.

Construction took place alongside the existing occupied school buildings, and therefore keeping the school operational and safe guarding the pupils and staff was the most important success factor for this project.

Now accommodating 540 pupils, the new school provides new classrooms, a school hall and studio, administration areas, new catering kitchen along with a new multi-use games area, all sitting alongside the adjacent and remodelled Brambles nursery which remained open for business throughout.

During the project, Interclass have supported the creation of local jobs, with 90% of the supply chain spend on the project derived from 20 miles of the site, and even arranged a visit to Aston Fire Station for the school poster competition winners.

Testimonial

"Could a project present us with anymore complexities; from our integration with an operable building, demolition of existing structures, complex ground solutions, dealing with statutory authorities and construction within a densely populated residential area capped off with a blast of COVID-19, yet it has been a pleasure to deliver this outstanding and eye-catching facility on behalf of Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council."
