Over the last couple of months, we have been supporting our local colleges through various initiatives including careers events, mock interview sessions and presentations. Here’s what we have been up to:
Rico Jones visited his former college (Walsall) to share insights into his career journey so far with a group of Level 1 Brickwork students. Prior to securing an apprenticeship with us last summer, Rico completed his Level 1&2 Brickwork and T-Level course in Design, Surveying and Planning at the College. He is now putting his studies to good use as an Apprentice QS on a variety of projects including Pens Meadow School in Dudley and New Cross Hospital.
During National Careers Week, we participated in a Mock Interview Day at Southam College, just down the road from our site at Thwaites Dumpers.
Nicola Piggott and Maisie Smith represented us at a careers event hosted by City of Wolverhampton College where they spoke to students about potential career paths within our industry.
Rico Jones and Lily Jordan attended a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Maths) Event at Walsall College on the 24th April to help raise awareness of STEAM careers and promote the work we are doing in the local area.
Lily is currently finishing her first year of a T-Level in Design, Surveying and Planning at Walsall College and gaining valuable experience through her placement with us.
