Coundon Court School celebrates milestone with steel signing ceremony

Interclass has reached a major milestone in the construction of a two storey ‘Modern Foreign Languages’ block.

To mark the start of the steel frame going up on the new hall extension students were invited to sign their names on some of the steel beams before they were lifted into place.

Stephen Pearson, project manager at Interclass, said: “We are pleased to celebrate this milestone with the school. Work is progressing well and the finished building will provide an inspiring modern learning environment.”

Once complete the development will provide the required additional school places within the existing Coundon Court School grounds, providing improved facilities for a generation of pupils in Coventry, in a safe and secure environment.

The new building will comprise 16 classrooms, SEN provision, store rooms and office space for teaching staff and is due to ready for the start of the new academic year in September 2021.

Built with sustainability in mind, the new buildings incorporate low energy high efficiency LED fittings throughout with renewable energy generated from Solar PV panels.  As well as engagement with the school, the site team have worked closely with local community groups such as Canley Food Hub and The Hope Centre, helping families in need by donating time and money to local causes.
