Coundon Court students enjoy site visit

This week a group of students joined us for an exciting behind-the-scenes tour of their new school building.

14 students, all part of the school’s architecture club, visited the site on the grounds of their school and were given a fascinating insight into the construction processes taking place.  The aspiring architects also had the opportunity to ask questions and meet some members of the Interclass team as they toured the site.

The visit follows on from a steel signing ceremony which took place in November last year which also involved students from the school.

Sara Barnes, Marketing Manager at Interclass said: “We have been keen to engage with the students at Coundon Court as part of this project, and now they are back at school we have been delighted to welcome some of the school’s students on to the site.

We were aware these students already had an interest in design and architecture so we tailored the visit accordingly to discuss some of the design considerations on this project as well as giving them an insight into the variety of career options available to them.”

Head of Design & Technology, Sarah Belgrove said: “The students really enjoyed themselves! They came out asking lots of questions and I know it has provided them with lots of ideas and things to think about. Both myself and the students were so impressed with the gift bags too! They particularly loved the scale rules and I’m sure we will have lots of fun showing them how to use them properly for their drawings. We look forward to our next visit!”

The new £5m teaching block and hall extension at Coundon Court is set to complete in August, ready for the start of the new school year in September.
