The re-development of Belgrade Theatre is now complete, with phase 2 officially handed over by contractor, Interclass earlier this month.
With works commencing at the start of the pandemic to form the new café-bar area, Interclass carried out the project successfully with protective measures in place throughout the whole project’s duration.
The ground floor, together the former restaurant space above, has been completely refurbished as part of the second phase to provide a new vibrant and welcoming space for theatre-goers to enjoy.
The highly anticipated transformation also includes the addition of new toilet facilities and a separate staircase to allow the new café bar to be able to operate independently from the theatre.
Construction Director, Peter Hood said:
“It’s been a massive team effort with Belgrade staff, supporters and the wider project team coming together to achieve a fantastic result. It’s been an absolute pleasure to work on this landmark redevelopment of one of Coventry’s finest entertainment venues – particularly as we move closer to the re-opening of the hospitality and creative arts industry again after a difficult year.”
Interclass is also currently delivering a number of other projects in the City, including new offices at Whitley Depot and a new teaching block at Coundon Court Secondary School, both for Coventry City Council.
