We were delighted to welcome the Help Inside the Hard Hat to our Harplands Hospital site on the 21st November, as part of their Midlands region tour.
Help Inside the Hard Hat is one of the Lighthouse Club Construction Charity’s latest awareness campaigns which aims to deliver the message that no construction worker or their family should be alone in a crisis, directly to the frontline.
As part of this campaign, they are touring a handful of sites in the UK to help spread the word about the crucial support services the charity provides for FREE for anyone working in construction.
As part of our visit, bricklayer Rob bravely spoke about his mental health journey as part of a toolbox-style talk where he also focused on the importance of looking after your health and wellbeing.
He then remained on-site for the rest of the morning, so everyone got the chance to speak to him on a one-to-one basis and ask any questions they had.
If you are interested in hearing more from Rob, he also hosted his own podcast – MYH Podcast where he chats with people working in the construction industry to help break down the stigma surrounding mental health.
There are always people ready to listen and help you should you need it. Call the Construction Industry Helpline anytime on 0345 609 1956 or Text HARDHAT to 85258
They can support with anything from emergency financial support, health, relationships, anxiety, depression etc. and it’s a completely FREE service to use for you and your family.
